The National Multicultural Festival in Canberra

This time last week Canberra was celebrating the National Multicultural Festival which drew quite a lot of people. Being a fairly new ACT Labor member myself I helped out with the stall at the festival supporting ACT Labor. Whilst politics is not everyone’s cup of tea it does play a role in our everyday life whether at the local, state, or federal level. One of the things I like about the Multicultural Festival is that it reminds me that we are a nation of people who have made Australia their home. It also shows that the first Australians also have a unique history and one that has not been managed too well since colonisation.

It was good to see a whole range of cultures celebrating their backgrounds and displaying their food and craft items at their stalls which people could purchase.

The photo below shows me holding a large bunch of balloons which were advertising ACT Labor. They didn’t last too long as all the young kids and young parents came up and wanted one.

My first time ever holding a large bunch of balloons.

Have a great weekend 🙂
